In most cases, all Canadian documents will be authenticated at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT), however in some infrequent cases; certain countries may require your document(s) to instead be authenticated at a Ministry of Government Services (MGS) office. As each country enforces their own unique provisions, please be sure to confirm the jurisdictional provisions with your consulate's office prior to sending us your documents. It is certainly not at the discretion of Capital Authentication, nor at the discretion of the client, to decide at which office the authentication is completed.

Most foreign countries have multiple consular offices located in various major cities, including in Ottawa. As each country enforces their own unique provisions, please be sure to confirm the jurisdictional provisions with your consulate's office prior to sending us your documents. These provisions establish which jurisdiction your documents are eligible to be processed in. It is certainly not at the discretion of Capital Authentication, nor at the discretion of the client, to decide at which consular office the documents are processed.

DFAIT will affix one (1) stamp on each page that contains an original notarial seal. Typically a consulate will then affix their consular stamp/signature on each document submitted. The number of DFAIT stamps you ultimately require, is the number of "documents" to be indicated in this field.
