Legalization
In order to legalize your documents, our office will attend on your behalf at the necessary Embassy/Consulate to have your documents processed. At Capital Authentication, we offer two (2) methods of service in order to complete your legalization needs. Most foreign countries have multiple consular offices located in various major cities, including in Ottawa. As each country enforces their own unique provisions, please be sure to confirm the jurisdictional provisions with your consulate’s office prior to sending us your documents. These provisions establish which jurisdiction your documents are eligible to be processed in. It is certainly not at the discretion of Capital Authentication, nor at the discretion of the client, to decide at which consular office the documents are processed. Contacting the Embassy/Consulate directly will improve the likeliness that you are provided with the most accurate and relevant information, as opposed to referring only to the Embassy/Consulate’s website, since most revisions and amendments to their requirements will occur with little to no notice at all to the general public.
By viewing the below charts (Schedules ‘B’ and ‘C’), you are able to determine the various costs associated with our numerous available turnaround times, depending on the number of documents you may have. You may also seek the help of our Calculator & Request Form shown below, in order to generate a more accurate calculation. In either case, no fee is guaranteed until Capital Authentication confirms same with you prior to any work being completed. In many cases, we are able to complete the legalization and return your documents to you in less time than requested. Unless you require the legalization of your documents on an absolute “rush” basis, we recommend to our clients to choose a slower turnaround time to allow for a much more cost-effective rate. The below-noted turnaround times, and subsequent pricing charts are strictly for clients requiring LEGALIZATION ONLY at an Embassy/Consulate located in Canada. Should your documents also require authentication beforehand, please refer to our Authentication with Legalization section located under Our Services.
As each country charges different consular fees to legalize various types of documents, Capital Authentication strongly encourages its clients to confirm any applicable consular fees with the Embassy/Consulate in question prior to sending us any documents. Although we recommend to our clients to provide us with a money order payable to the Embassy/Consulate to cover any applicable consular fees, our office is able to advance the payment(s) on your behalf for an additional cost of $15.00 per money order, plus the actual disbursement amount.
